Update 1/23/05: Well here's the latest. It's been awhile since I have updated due to the crashing of dear
ole HP. So I have a new computer and life is fantastic once again. Where do I start...I did not accept the job as station
manager in Kissimmee, Florida. Bottom line they offered me less money than I was willing to go down there for and there
was no advancement possibilities. So, I am still working at good old Hickory Park. I am now managing and training
while doing some occasional serving. I applied to the Ames Fire Department. As of now I am currently on the waiting
list to get hired. Big congrats to me for being the first woman in six years to pass the physical ability test (nine
dudes and two women couldn't pass it) and scoring third highest out of 100 on the written test. I am also going
to apply to the Police Department and see where this new path may take me.
I am going to Chattanooga, Tennessee in the middle of February to see Micah, one of my dearest friends. We are
going climbing, camping and depleating the bourbon supply in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
That's it for now!
Update 5/21/04-Well, it's official... as of July 1st I will be joining the ranks of the unemployed. Getting
kicked out of the City. Oh well. I will probably work on improving my waitress skills for awhile if I can't find something.
Summer is here. Softball is going very well. The four games a week are keeping me busy. I can't wait until
the pool opens.
Update 12/31/03 - Happy New Year's Eve!
Well I found out that I did not get the job in Sioux Falls. It would have been nice making substantially more money
a year, but I have come to realize Sioux Falls is not yet ready for a gal like me. So it's obviously thier loss.
Everybody is going to James' tonight. I will have pictures up in the next week of the event, and I am sure it will
be very interesting!
Update 10/13/03
I found out on Thursday that I will no longer have a job here at the City due to budget cuts. I am very frustrated
and angry-especially the way my boss presented it. So I have many options. I will start looking for a job after
my Greece trip. Sooooo, if anybody out there hears of any jobs (no matter where they are) let me know. The other option
is I could go back and get my MBA or my Master's. We will see. Governor Vilsack thought it would be a good
idea to "Reinvent Iowa" by cutting city and school budgets all across Iowa to bring in new business and keep young people
in the state. Well I speak first hand that his Reinvent Iowa Bill is backfiring.
Update 10/9/03
I am planning a trip to Greece for two weeks in March. Eight of my friends and I are going. We are staying
in Athens for a couple of days, then off to Crete for a week and Rhodes for a week. I am really really excited!
Update 9/15/03
I am back from Denver, Colorado. The NATOA conference was really great. I was able to see a lot of people
I haven't seen for sometime and catch up. I won three awards for my productions. More info on the NATOA and Denver
page.
UPDATE 8/24/03
I was hit in the face by a softball on Wednesday. I have a new best friend out of it named Vicadin. The funny
part is I wasn't even playing because if I was playing I would have caught the damn ball.
